A quick visit to Berryhill Fields this morning produced a Whitethroat and 8 wheatear

Always great to see a fall of wheatear at Berryhill fields, this morning there were 15 at least, with a backup stonechat. West Midland Bird Club Save Berryhill Fields Action Group

If this regionally important bird and wildlife habitat is lost to development it would be a great loss. WMBC are fully supporting it's retention as Green Space.

Stoke-on-Trent City Council has sold its 19% stake in a development company it jointly founded in 1993 for £5m.

Prob won't see another Redwing for a few months but always good to see winter and summer visitors overlap. This one at Berryhill this morning. Didn't reconnect with the Ring Ouzel though.

After several attempts Gareth Snell has managed to secure Save Berryhill Fields Action Group a meeting on 18th April with Jane Ashworth & Council Officers to discuss Berryhill Fields.
However, just a few minutes ago, Cllr Heather Blurton posted the following message on Facebook :

2 April Berryhill the two male Ring Ouzels still present this am. View the paddocks looking north from the top end of the Pallestacks track. They can move out of sight into the Hawthorns.
