A wet day on Delmarva with on and off heavy rain and even some thunderstorms. Temperatures today should reach the 70s and 80s this afternoon even with the rain falling and will continue into tonight and early on Saturday. We need the rain, so very thankful that we are getting.

Well, we said we needed the rain. This is as of this morning...at 5:30am where we have folks having already picked up over 2" of rain. Remember, we have all this rain still to come today into tonight and early on Saturday. Ooooo boy, this could be too much of a good thing...

Flood Watch is up for parts of Delmarva for today into Saturday. Why the entire Peninsula is not under this flood watch confuses me, but this is where we are at the moment. We have already a good bit rain across the area overnight with a lot more possible the next 36 hours.

Here are rain totals for the area as of 9am Friday morning. Many folks have seen 1-4" of rain across Delmarva with our heaviest amounts in Dorchester and eastern Sussex County. We still have a long way to go and a lot more rain on the way over the next 24 hours.

If you are going to the Pony Swim, be aware that there will be showers in the morning. The swim should happen when we get a window where it stops raining. More shower possible later in the day. The 99th Chincoteague Pony Swim will be on DSN and on the DSN app starting at Noon!

A pretty good Tuesday is on tap for us with temperatures up into the 80s and some low 90s this afternoon. The heat index values will be near 100 later today as the humidity will go up slowly. I'll have an update on my thoughts on what to expect with Debby later this morning.

Morning! The first band of showers and storms are developing across parts of Delmarva on what will be an active weather day. The chance of showers and storms is possible throughout the day. A few of these storms will pack a punch and an isolated tornado is possible today.

A Tornado Watch has been issued through 2 PM this afternoon. This means that conditions are favorable for the development for possible severe thunderstorms that may produce a quick spin-up tornado. Stay tuned to WBOC-TV, Wboc.com, and the WBOC Weather App!
