Today was lovely, culminating in kids planting an oak tree which will hopefully be there for generations to come π We didn't take many pictures so would really appreciate it if you could send us yours. Please can you send them to [email protected] Ta!

What a fantastic way to celebrate saving Rimrose Valley! After years of campaigning, Iβm thrilled the Labour Government halted this road project and preserved a much-loved green space in Sefton. Congratulations to all our community Save Rimrose Valley πππ Sefton Council and Peter Dowd MP

This is the potential better rail freight connectivity has to transform living conditions here in South Sefton. A real-life example, right here in the UK. Over to you Department for Transport Network Rail Steve Rotheram Peel Ports We'll be 100% behind this π bbc.co.uk/news/articles/β¦

IMPORTANT: The Liverpool City Region is consulting on its draft Local Transport Plan. This is MASSIVELY important as it covers the movement of goods, not just people, so PLEASE take part. Full details and tips on responding here π Thanks! π Closes 15/12 saverimrosevalley.org/post/consultatβ¦

The immediate threat to Rimrose Valley might have gone away, but there's still lots to do to oppose roadbuilding across the country. If you can, please consider supporting our friends at Transport Action Network as they take this fight to court. Full details below π

This is a shock and a shame. We owe Louise Haigh a lot, as it was her decision to cancel the Port of Liverpool Access Road, for which we'll always be grateful. She had great plans for improving transport across the north. We hope her successor picks up where she left off.

As we start 2025, we've made a fresh approach to Liverpool City Region's Port Access Steering Group (PASG). This group holds the answers to solving the issues around port access, but must start engaging with the communities impacted by its decisionsπ saverimrosevalley.org/post/a-fresh-aβ¦

Our friends Transport Action Network flagged these workshops to us, so we've been in Manchester today. Department for Transport is consulting ahead of publishing its Integrated Transport Strategy later this year. We were there to make sure the movement of freight is on the agenda πβοΈπ³

This is the latest on port access following our letter to the Liverpool City Region at the beginning of the year. Coming up with a plan to solve this challenge is essential to protecting Rimrose Valley long-term. Read more below π saverimrosevalley.org/post/response-β¦

Important proposal this. As with HS2 a new railway line between Liverpool and Manchester isn't just about passengers, it's about freeing up capacity for freight, too. We look forward to finding out more details of this project, known as "The Northern Arc". liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/liverpoolβ¦
