Douglas expects to cut costs but will rely on an outside nonprofit for some services. All three counties say the fees individual residents pay for services shouldn't change — at least for now. More details on the transition — and how we got here — in our story above. 5/

A small note: The counties were paying into TCHD to keep it running, but TCHD's size and reputation put it in good position for certain types of grant + contract funds. One concern during the transition was that single-county health depts might not be as competitive. 6/

We thought it was because of DougCo's "unique needs" that the commissioners demolished a 75-yo services provider, not because you disagreed with a single decision during a historic pandemic. Good to have that cleared up.

Roger D. Hudson One question to ask about faux outrage is whether the source knows it’s invented or is just hopelessly credulous. From yrs with CSP + as a DougCo Commissioner, Lora Thomas - former DougCo Commissioner absolutely knows the declaration was for Wed’s damage and covered more conservative counties than DougCo.

This feels an appropriate place to point out that the county itself didn't issue a disaster declaration until today...or if you read the document... 300 years from today.

DougCo County Commissioners have renamed Lucent Blvd to Kendrick Castillo Way (at a cost of >$150k). While they make gestures, it is worth remembering they also voted to not enforce red flag laws & raffled an AR-15. And this picture.

Remember when the prev R candidate for HD43 said our safe gun storage law was "the worst law we ever passed"? Current cand Matt Burcham: "I will always defend innocent life and property rights. I believe the Second Amendment defends the rest."

Trump relied on voter data to decide which disaster victims to help Not a bad thing for Kamala Harris and Liz Cheney to hit today as they talk about putting country over party

Stephen Miller said the same at the Trump rally in Aurora, CO - the state’s most diverse city, where 21% of the population is foreign-born. #copolitics
