From annual cover crops to seeded perennials to native prairie, forages are an incredible source of biodiversity! Thank you to the forage growers and livestock producers who are providing this valuable ecosystem service.

Blue grama is a common native grass in SE Alberta, known for its eyelash-like seed heads. Drought-tolerant, nutritious for wildlife & livestock, and helps prevent erosion. The Blackfoot used its seed spikes to predict winter severity. #Grasslands #NativePlants
