Spent a lovely few days engrossed in backlist Clare Chambers. Highly recommend this nostalgic tale of a young girl growing up and falling in love with her best friend’s brother.

What’s in a name? Well, when in real life your beloved Dad is called Gordon…. It makes it a pretty tough read. So much associated with a name for me and I find it hard to detach especially in a novel like this. More to say when I finish it.

The simmering tension in the Grapevine has kept me gripped over the past few days! Hints of The Trouble with Goats and Sheep in terms of period detail and young investigator, but this is much darker. And a GREAT ending! Published by Phoenix Books in March so keep on your radar!!

Thank you to Eowyn Ivey for true escapism to the wonders of wild Alaska in her new novel coming in Feb. Like her bestselling The Snow Child, this is mythical, magical and also haunting. Wonderful characters and the landscape just enthralled me.

It’s been nearly 5 years since I sold a book ( in an official capacity at least!) but every day I hope to get back to it in the future. So to still occasionally receive some of the most sought after proofs is beyond a joy. I love Hannah’s writing and can’t wait to read this.
