NEW Hydroponic Garden Unboxing! 🌿🍓Looking forward to getting these started in January! A special shout-out to EV Foundation for funding my grant! ✨

1st Grade: Ss knocked it out of the park with this STEM challenge! ✨ Ss used both their math & engineering skills to design & create snowflakes displaying their knowledge about shapes and repeating patterns! ❄️⚪️🟩🔺⚪️🟩🔺

3rd Grade: Novel Engineering in the works with Ss. ✨ Listening to the book, “Winter Sleep” Ss designed and created ways for animals to hibernate in the winter, so they can survive in their habitats.

Jumping out of my comfort zone to start the New Year by presenting at the Cobb Learning Engagement Institute! ✨

‼️Superworms in the STEM Lab‼️Kinder: Ss are investigating superworms & gummy worms to determine living and nonliving attributes. ✨

Incredibly honored to be selected as a recipient for the Cobb EMC mini grant! Cannot wait to expand the hydroponic garden learning experiences in the STEM lab.🪴Thank you Cobb EMC for your generous contributions to help make Cobb schools the best place to teach, lead, & learn. ✨

The TWO hydroponic systems are officially up and running full of strawberry plants! 🪴 🍓 Lots of prep work, but so worth it!! Looking forward to implementing this into Ss learning experiences ✨

Coming back from Winter Break and blown away by the growth of the strawberry plants 🪴 🍓Cannot wait for all the Ss to see them! ✨

1st Grade: Ss used Scratch Jr to showcase their knowledge about animals basic needs by coding our calf Babybel moving to get to her food, water, and shelter. ✨

4th Grade: Ss created secret messages and then used a mirror to demonstrate how the path of light travels from a light source to a mirror and it it is reflected by the mirror using different angles to solve the code.

What a nice surprise this Monday morning to see all the red berries on the hydroponic strawberry plants! 🪴🍓✨ Shoutout to Cobb EMC for the mini grant to help bring this to life in EV STEM Lab.

43 days in the hydroponic leads to 20 ripe strawberries! 🍓🪴

3rd Grade: After learning about the problem with water pollution in the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. Ss created ocean cleanup tools that can be used to take out the trash from the water without disturbing plants & animals. ✨

Let the countdown begin!!! 🥚🐣🐓🎉✨

3rd Grade: Ss are learning about heat. They had to find a way to keep the chocolate from melting in a plastic egg, if it were being shipped in the mail. They had to use their brainpower to also stick to a strict budget when “purchasing” their building materials. 💵

An incredible time at STEMapalooza! The inspiring speakers at the engaging, explorative, & innovative sessions, every moment fueled curiosity & sparked new ideas. Grateful for the connections made, passion shared, & the inspiration to take teaching & learning to the next level ✨
