Hilde Engjom For the triennium 2019–2021, the maternal mortality rate in the Republic of Ireland was 6.3 per 100,000 maternities (95% CI 3.2-11.3), statistically significantly lower than the UK rate. No statistically significant difference if UK maternal deaths from COVID-19 are excluded.
