FINALLY the Royal College of General Practitioners has called for a halt on any further recruitment of PAs as doctor substitutes in general practice. Heartfelt thanks to all frontline & senior staff who’ve fought for standards in medicine & patient safety. Shame on the leaders who haven’t.

Independent evidence, helping to inform the current debate ahead of the budget. The Ag budget would have to rise 40% to account for inflation alone. That's taking no account of investment needs, or drops in income from wet weather, disease or volatile markets.

The language is wrong in the article; APR isn't a loop hole for working farmers, it's essential tax relief that enables farmers to grow and pass on functioning businesses, that feed into the economy and feed the population. Unlike the political cycle farming is a long term game

Time is running out! Make your voice heard! Changes to APR risk ripping the ❤️ out of our farming heritage and with it the food we produce! It might not change anything but don’t sit back and do nothing! campaigns.nfuonline.com/page/156476/ac…

Steve Reed said “Farmers will have to do more with less” What the hell does he think we’ve been doing since the 1860’s?

Went to bluesky, it’s like here 10 years ago, even looks the same…. With a good proportion of the lovely food/farming/nature people who used to be here.

If the Treasury wished to consult on the proposed IHT changes, it would hear ideas such as: - transitional relief for the elderly, infirm and unfortunate, to smooth out the current cliff edge at 6th April 2026; - increase the 100% cap to £5m or £10m per person to protect smaller

Rob Halliday (@cvfarming) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Treasury has forgotten about how much sentiment affects economic productivity. £500mn raised by IHT will reduce the wish of farmers to invest. Extrapolated figs from the number of UK holdings & our own expenditure, but a drop of 1.25% spend will totally nulify this tax take 🙄
