No just massive companies having to only use recycled plastic as it would be cheaper - they’d find a way as they’d still want to sell their products x

Tax breaks would work too but sadly I think the coffers are quite low at the mo - alternatively just drive the cost of new plastics up to a point where people fish old plastic out of the sea and clear rubbish dumps bringing our waste back home where it should have never left

Exactly!! But either way would have the same effect as wherever they tax it it would drive the prices up for new plastics and down for recycled plastic x

Why is there not a super tax on all new plastic used - create a better market for recycled plastic and the rest will do itself??

Thanks for reply - I guess I don’t quite ask the right question - I’m wondering what we all see our responsibility to pensioners being - are we giving the hard working a rest or making space for fresh blood to come through?? (We - quite loosely as I’m technically nearly there!) x

Ah but I want to know how it is viewed by government/the population/business - each needs a different solution - like social housing - a long term solution for key workers as rents now often unaffordable or a stop gap to cover a crisis moment - both issues have been privatised x

Haven’t posted for a while but woke in the night wondering this question
Is retirement an earned rest or a clearing of dead wood??
No better place than twitter to take the question!
