Today was a big day - our last Austerity + Altered Life-Courses team meeting in our current form. New adventures to follow for us all. Thank you Santi, Laura Fenton Liz Ackerley @TheAlisonBriggs @BudworthPoppy and Hazel. Here's to friendship ❤️✊️ And creative energy 😉😉

Future Lives & Austerity- a digital exhibition 📆10-5pm Wed 6 Nov 2024 📌Central Library, Manchester Sharing Austerity + Altered Life-Courses research on how austerity impacts everyday lives & hopes for the future. Everyone welcome - drop in! #McrESRCFest #ESRCFestival festivalofsocialscience.com/events/future-…

Deeply disturbing to learn that F-35 components have been covertly sent to Israel via British airbases & Heathrow, enabling 2000lb bombs to be dropped on Gaza. Shipments have continued under Labour, therefore actively facilitating genocide & war crimes. End ALL arms sales NOW.

We've a busy week here Austerity + Altered Life-Courses. Tomorrow, we'll be at MCR Central Library from 10-5 with our exhibition on Future Lives and Austerity (also available on our website). Come to listen, chat, and be impressed at how we managed to fit it all in one small suitcase! 🎧💭💼

This week we're also holding a creative methods session with our mcr anti-poverty research community partners, co-delivered with the amazing Inspire Women Oldham community researchers. For more on this work, including a co-created framework, see our website: socialsciences.manchester.ac.uk/morgan-centre/…

It's already Thursday! We're co-delivering this session today with Inspire Women Oldham. Wondering about the little icons? We use these on each slide as a reminder of who is leading/speaking! What would your icon be?!

We've got two new free resources to share from our project! First is a guide on Researching Austerity published by Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) You can download as a PDF here: rgs.org/research/resea… (1/2)

Second is a new Methods@Manchester podcast episode about our Oral Histories and Futures method, ft team members Laura Fenton and Liz Ackerley which you can listen to here: open.spotify.com/episode/2ubEnx… Thanks to all those who have supported these outputs!
