π’Calling all Scottish Government policymakers! This new policy briefing explores the contribution of volunteers to a range of priorities, inc. child poverty, employability, community wealth building, curriculum reform, local democracy, New Scots and the NCS.
Great to represent Volunteer Scotland π and CPG on Volunteering in meeting with Natalie Don-Innes MSP about proposal to remove the PVG fee waiver for volunteers in QVOs. This proposed change would add strain to a stretched 3rd sector and impact vulnerable people in communities across Scotland.
Good to attend the CPG Volunteering meeting on the proposal to remove the PVG fee waiver for volunteers in QVOs. This proposal would place strain on 3rd sector orgs & reduce services for vulnerable people. Thanks to Minister Natalie Don-Innes MSP for listening to members' concerns.
Great to be representing Volunteer Scotland π at the Community Development Alliance Scotland conference today. Pleased to hear Ivan McKee MSP, Minister for Public Finance, recognise the importance of prevention in public service reform. Volunteers have a key role in early intervention services in communities.
A missed opportunity: Sarah Latto of Volunteer Scotland π on the response to the Hayward Review okt.to/kl4ZdD
Great to have the opportunity to share our experiences and views around the #NationalOutcomes with Finance and Public Admn Committee. Spoke about the alignment of Volunteering Action Plan with Nat Outcomes, and the need for a standalone indicator on volunteer participation.
I'm representing Volunteer Scotland π at the #NCSForum today in sunny Glasgow. Great to hear Neil Gray MSP recognise lived experience as the 'golden thread' in ongoing NCS planning. How will Scottish Government ensure that the precious time of recipients of care and carers is meaningfully recognised?
David Duke from Street Soccer Scotland representing the vital role of the 3rd sector in delivering support and care based on trust, and reflecting on the financial challenges facing the sector right now. We can't take the 3rd sector for granted as we develop the NCS. #NCSForum24. ππ»
