We're thrilled to have Daniรซl Lakens here at MPI fรผr Kognitions- & Neurowissenschaften next week! On Tuesday, Oct 24, at 14:00 CET he will talk about "Fixing our crisis: Real solutions instead of new heuristics." An urgently needed perspective for moving psychology and cognitive science forward!

Do internally generated word predictions draw on cognitive control resources? Come see my poster D99 SNL Annual Meeting at todayโs second poster session! We explored the effect of cognitive demand on word predictability at different timescales across the adult life span. #SNL2023 Cognition & Plasticity Lab

My first Nature Portfolio paper is out!! ๐ Was a blast working on this together with @sabrina_turker, @ZhizhaoJiang and Gesa Hartwigsen! We find that dyslexia is associated with underactivation of the core reading areas and disturbed connectivity between them.

Out in print, a collaboration with FriedericiLab in which we discuss ways in which theoretical and methodological choices shape the work we do in #cognitive #neuroscience of #language. Wonderful being part of this co-author octet!

Happy that the first big part of my PhD is out PNASNews!๐ง ๐ฅณ Three #TMSEEG studies to probe the #causal dynamics of #comprehension. Extremely grateful to have worked with the wonderful Thomas Gunter, Ole Numssen, @LeonKroczek, Gesa Hartwigsen FriedericiLab doi.org/10.1073/pnas.2โฆ

Over the moon bc I got my #PhDone ๐๐พ Thanks so much Gesa Hartwigsen & Thomas Knรถsche for the continuos support ๐๐๐ I'm super grateful to have spent my #PhD years with the amazing folks Cognition & Plasticity Lab & Brain Networks Lab & MPI fรผr Kognitions- & Neurowissenschaften and all the collaborators โค๏ธ also: the hat - wtf ๐

I'm really glad the work that already won us 2 conference awards is now published!! We propose a new method for TMS dosing based on computational simulations of the TMS-induced electric field (see Ole Numssen's thread): doi.org/10.1162/imag_aโฆ

๐ขJob opening for a PhD candidate in Neurocognitive Psychology Humboldt-Universitรคt zu Berlin Berlin! Apply to join our new DFG-funded project "The neurocognition of social-emotional (mis)information" at the Abdel Rahman Lab (currently shut down) More infos here: euraxess.ec.europa.eu/jobs/199640

Language Predictions across linguistic units: From phonemes to words to sentences. Our symposium at #PuG2024 with @MerleSchuckart, Peter Donhauser, @KriesJill and Cas Coopmans demonstrated the full breadth of methods in this exciting research field! Thanks for the great talks! ๐๐๐ผ๐๐ผ
