July 2023 was the hottest month on record, according to our global temperature analysis. Overall, July was 0.43°F (0.24°C) warmer than any other July in NASA Earth's record, and it's likely due to human activity. Details: go.nasa.gov/3OTWMh7

Taking gene-editing applications to the next level, Morath et al., from the lab successfully edit CD4 T cells from Tonsil tissues paving way to answer some cool #virology but also #immunology questions in a more physiological tissue-like environment! biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Thrilled that one of my PhD projects is coming to an end 🚀! We show that 3D #collagen gels restrict #HIV infectivity: virions cultured in collagen matrices are restricted at the level of fusion, and are sensitized for innate immune recognition in MDMs. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Cool new method for mechanistic studies in complex lymphoid tissue: Congratulation to Katharina Morath (Fackler lab) for establishing gene editing in ex vivo tonsil cultures that will enable e.g. new quantitative #HIV research sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

1/ Why is Ki-67 called Ki-67? And why am I attaching a photo of this beautiful city to the tweet? If you work in pathology or oncology, you’ve likely come across Ki-67 many times. But where does the name come from? A short 🧵 on the origins, function, and significance of Ki-67.
