Pretty insane to hear Winsome Earle-Sears scream that opposing marriage equality is "NOT" discrimination. That allowing people to be fired because they are gay is "NOT" discrimination. #VAGovDebate

My opponent said last night that her support for firing someone from their job for being gay and her opposition to same-sex marriage are “not discrimination.” Seriously? It's an unacceptable position for anyone wanting to serve Virginians as Governor.

What this article fails to acknowledge is that many of these (not all) candidates came close to winning, and at a minimum, made Republicans spend a lot of money in states they hoped to win easily. The answer for Democrats is not to stop trying in red states.

70% of Republican ad spending in this race was on trans issues. They put everything they had into scaring Virginians into voting against Spanberger. They failed.

Winsome Earle-Sears dumped millions of dollars into anti-trans ads, refused to say anything useful for Virginians, and got waxed. If what you took away from 2024 was that there's a magic transphobia switch you can flip to win -- you deserve to get waxed.

Today, voters have resoundingly rejected the politics of division in favor of a politics of progress. Those elected tonight met voters where they are while staying true to their own values — all while maintaining a laser focus on making life more affordable. This is the way.

Notably, Loudoun County is where Winsome Sears spent all her time campaigning on bathrooms, while Abigail Spanberger ran on affordability. Voters in this key battleground rejected the GOP's playbook on divisive culture wars in favor Democrats running on the economy.

Been saying it for the last year & I'll say it again: It is never foolish to be hopeful.
