Feel like it should be obvious but it's clearly not--the humanities are good and not meant to be scientific. Societies, especially wealthy ones, should engage in a lot of criticism, poetry, and other humanistic pursuits for the sake of beauty. We need more humanities, not less.

Compelling stuff from my home-state Senator. We need a new strategy to rebuild the Left. That doesn't just mean beating whoever comes after Trump in four years, or even just better policy priorities. It means a complete inside-outside strategy for remaking our collective life.
