If Tier 1 mega VCs can produce top quartile returns (3-5x+ DPI) and offer co-invest into the all time great companies, why risk it for the extra alpha? No LP is ever getting fired for picking FF, A16Z or Sequoia.

The premise is reasonable except that Kalshi profited off of this bet. Super misleading offer, last minute clause to protect themself, and returning a fraction of entry costs. Tough look.

Berkshire Hathaway should buy a majority stake in Anthropic. Would be an awesome final move from Buffett.

Issues with this: 1) Misleading wording on the offer (“out” as leader). 2) Adding late disclosure without allowing pre-disclosure bets to be withdrawn at cost. 3) Acting like there was even a 0.0001% chance that Khamenei would voluntarily resign as leader.

Anduril could have easily raised at $90B and been oversubscribed. (Whether real or fake) I’ve seen secondaries offered at $105-$115 PPS, a ~50% premium to the anticipated round PPS. Have to respect the valuation discipline.
