It’s not a golden generation, it wasn’t a golden generation, it isn’t going to be a golden generation. They’re not that different than past USMNTs, even if they play at bigger clubs. Limited ability, limited personality, limited ceiling. This is old, but think it holds:

There have been so many incredible elements to Vancouver’s run, but Vite drawing in Jordi f’n Alba just so he could do him like this is the one that will stick with me the longest. I’ll remember this meg for years. The disrespect. My god.

Only way this Vancouver script can end is with Sebastian Berhalter getting called to the USMNT and Gio Reyna getting left off the same squad.

Really dislike Pulisic skipping Gold Cup. Yes, he could use a break. But now? When US needs to respond from embarrassment of Nations League and build understanding in only extended pre-World Cup camp w/ Poch? He sets the tone for the program. This isn't hitting the right note.

I turned it off after the fourth. What do you even say? Complete lack of organization, understanding, quality and intensity. Pathetic showing from Poch on down. Hard for me to think of many more embarrassing USMNT performances than that.

Tons of brutal moments by individuals, but let's recap 1H "pressing" by USMNT: -Pressers not going full speed -No understanding where they were trying to pin Swiss -Massive gaps between lines So easy to play out of, then so much space to break into. Poch, where you at, man?

Anyway, we know what the player pool is. We've known that for a long while. We don't really know how seriously Poch has been approaching the job. Early returns? Awful. Team didn't look at all prepared tonight. Couple that with the talent discrepancy, and you get that mess.
