Netflix will discontinue DVD rent-by-mail in Sept 2023. Netflix started renting in 1998, placing itself at the centre of video rental’s DVD led resurgence. At its peak the DVD rental market generated £15.7bn in consumer revenues. This is the end of an era for home entertainment.
