Sharing for no reason: teargas fashion tips: Cover mouth & nose with mask/scarf. Cover as much of your body as u can. Sunglasses/swim goggles=useful. If u encounter teargas-cold water on face ASAP, when home leave the clothes you were wearing out for 48hrs & wash separately.

Letter circulating from the Communications Authority of Kenya ordering media houses to cease broadcast of today’s nationwide protests. (If memory serves me right last year high court ruling stated that broadcasting code prescribed by the CA is unconstitutional…?)

If you’re following protests in Kenya - there are tonnes of updates and footage being shared on social media by citizens on the ground- I do highly recommend giving Africa Uncensored a follow - they are providing important coverage.

Over the last few weeks Kenyans have been speaking out against police brutality- to get an idea of what they are dealing with, see this clip of police officers in Kenya harassing two protestors who were sat down during today’s June 25th Anniversary demos.

Kenyan police cornered peaceful protesters in a blocked alley, beat them up, then teargassed them. "Larry ukienda tutauliwa," one of them said. "If you leave, we'll get killed." Police brutality during protests against police brutality

I often think about this quote by Ugandan lawyer David F.K. Mpanga “We shall never see the Uganda we want until we develop a central nervous system that enables us to feel each other's pain” Replace Uganda with your country of choice.
