A powerful and timely article from Sir Jeremy highlighting the backwards, anti-science culture of so called “normal births”. From recent personal experience of one of the worst NHS trusts in England for maternity care, Baroness Amos’s action plan can’t come soon enough.

Govt can cut benefits or raise taxes at a moment’s notice. Give nearly 20 years notice of an increase in pension age and apparently compensation may be due at a potential cost of billions; to be paid by younger generations. Ludicrous. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

Ken Clarke -I live in a county with a Reform Council. Some of the people didn’t know it sat in the day so resigned quickly and most didn’t know what the council was responsible for. They fought on the promise of cutting waste and council by tax & they have just put it up. #bbcqt

"It upsets the markets, it effects confidence, people start trying to make money." Lord Clarke, former Chancellor under John Major, thinks trailing the Budget has brought 'an air of gloom' over the whole economy this year, telling #BBCPM this act was career ending 'in my day'.

If you don’t like the bond market then run a budget surplus. Problem solved. If you want to borrow money, don’t whine about the fact that the people lending it to you will do it on their terms, not yours.

I don't understand why, as a young, hardworking father with two children, a massive mortgage and few savings, I'm being asked to pay significantly higher taxes to subsidise a triple-locked pension and a bloating welfare bill. Seriously unfair.

Story of the Budget: - Reeves thought she had a black hole - She didn’t - But she raised taxes anyway, to pay for welfare U-turns and keep Labour backbenchers happy - Thus tilting the economy further towards the public sector and away from the private, and doing zero for growth

Although this is obviously unintentionally hilarious it is also intellectually interesting. Because this is what a socialist society would be like. A point of order and expulsions every time someone prefers a Twix to a Twirl.

This Government found more money for benefits and illegal migrants. But not to get our courts sitting round the clock. So, today, David Lammy is scrapping jury trials for the vast majority of cases.
