I don't think people are mad at Stella for being one note, I think they're mad that she doesn't even get to be good at being irredeemably evil because they gave it to her brother to come up with her plots and have the big finale fight. She just exists.

Maybe it does feel a little misogynistic that all these "bad" male characters get to have arcs, excuses, and sensitive explorations of their trauma but not any of the women?

I can't even be hopeful that Hazbin (the "girl" show) will make a complex bad woman character because Eve (Roo?) is evil because of biblical apple shenanigans
