To me the mark of a great book is how quickly I binge read it. The latest by Sam Wiebe ‖ Nolan Chase may have broken a record. I think this may be my fave of the Wakeland series, but I really ought to re-read the others again to make sure.

The Pledge with Jack Nicholson is a really good, thoughtful crime film. When it first came out I underrated it/didn't get it. Definitely worth the rewatch.

Good news! In August, the second Ethan Brand mystery comes out. A LONESOME PLACE FOR MURDER is set in the BC border town of Blaine, Washington. It is written by Sam Wiebe ‖ Nolan Chase under his pen name of Nolan Chase. This time around, a tunnel containing a dead man is discovered.

I watched my first Murder She Wrote episode this morning. Well written, well acted and the "shotgun blast to the face rendered the corpse unidentifiable" plot is surprisingly gruesome. Andy Garcia showed up, too.
