Exploration of ink, watercolour, squeegee and paper towel. Really good fun and I never know what will happen. I got this idea from Charlie Hunter.

Watercolour of dawn this morning looking out from Kalimna Park bushland towards Moonlight Flat. Winsor violet and phthalo blue on cold press paper.

Watercolour of eucalyptus from Kalimna bush in Castlemaine. The small branches are broken off trees by wind and birds such as parrots and cockatoos. This is painted on hot press paper.

Landscape. It’s easier to paint watercolour on rough or cold press paper but I wanted to see how I could use hot press paper for this

I attempted to captures the quiet stillness of Franklin reservoir at dawn, where the water meets the sky in a soft, muted harmony. Inspired by Andrew Wyeth’s restrained palette and his ability to evoke deep emotion through simplicity, I’ve worked with a limited range of colour.

I have been playing around with painting landscapes recently. Many I don’t like and throw into a box but for some reason I am happy with this one.
