why is every media organisation, in concert, making it's way through interviews with the richest NZers in this fashion when we have a far-right government that isn't even *planning* to increase tax?? It's beyond bootlicking at this point.

So far, this govt has cancelled or suspended: - the interisland ferries - hundreds of state housing projects - hundreds of school projects - light rail - walking and cycling projects - road safety investments - hospital upgrades

you know i think the "just reporting what was said" framing of NZ media outlets is just an utter, and often despicable, failure at this point

A family member works in a govt department in Wellington. He tells me they’ve spent so much money on redundancy payments that the budget is completely blown out. Millions of dollars paid to get people to NOT work. Just incredibly wasteful.

Why would the coalition government not support policies that provides targeted health services to Māori, considering they experience worse health outcomes than other New Zealanders?nzherald.co.nz/nz/politics/go…

Sending huge love to Sweet Release café in central Wellington. The coffee is great, the cinnamon buns amazing, they are a safe inclusive space and also offer free period products for those who need them. Couldn’t love this more!

If we stop targeting Māori for healthcare & other social services, who thinks that what we get will be "colourblind"? Or will we just go back to accepting what we have always had under colonisation- institutional racism and disadvantage for anyone who isn't a white male?

Unless you have a visual impairment, you’re not colourblind. You see colour just fine. Pretending that you don’t is weird, and suggests a willingness to deny not only reality but literally what you can see with your own eyes.

Fascinating framing as could equally be written "Woman gets what she is legally entitled to despite efforts of ex-partner to hide assets" nzherald.co.nz/nz/man-likely-…

This is the rubbish that Luxon is enabling. His support for Seymour’s racist bill emboldens racists of all kinds. There is nothing funny about this. It is pure racism. nzherald.co.nz/nz/matamata-rs…

Seymour: We’ll only honour Te Tiriti if we’ve also agreed to that in our own legislation Govt: We’re planning to take out all the references to Te Tiriti in legislation If Luxon truly opposed Seymour’s bill, he’d stop his own Treaty clause review at a bare minimum.

Receptionists in medical clinics are part of the group that Te Whatu Ora has offered voluntary redundancy to. Because they're not "frontline clinical staff." It's a perfect example of how arbitrary the frontline/back office division is.
