The leader of Georgia's main opposition party, parliament's second largest, has been beaten badly after disappearing from tonight's protest, his party tell me. He's missing at least one tooth.

Yet more grim news in Russia, where journalists Konstantin Gabov and Sergey Karelin – onetime Reuters and AP stringers respectively – were arrested late last week.
