Congratulations to Ashton Stuart of 10MO, who continues to go from strength to strength on the BMX track. Ashton has competed successfully in a number of recent events and will now go forward to represent Ireland at the World Championships in Copenhagen next July!

As part of their LLW curriculum, Year 10 pupils examined some of the worrying effects of alcohol abuse in lessons this week.

Thank you very much to Good News to Everyone, who recently spoke to our Year 8 pupils in a special assembly. Afterwards, each pupil was presented with a bible.

Well done to yr9 pupil Zac Hanna, who recently travelled to the All Ireland Championships at Baradown to represent Ulster. Zac rode brilliantly to finish in 4th place in the 138cm 80 class, and 8th place in the 138cm 90 class - a pair of outstanding results!

Earlier today, Mrs Derby’s Year 8 R.E class delivered a presentation on their identity and what was important to them. 🙌🏻

After school Rugby was in full swing yesterday. Thanks to Johnny from Ballynahinch RFC for his work with the pupils.

Our prefect team enjoyed a wonderful training session with Mrs Derby yesterday, followed by a trip in to the village for treats!

Congratulations to Zac, who has been nominated for the highly prestigious Farming Life Young Rider of the Year award! Zac will be attending a glitzy awards bash next week in Belfast! We wish him all the best.

Jack Moore (10BI) recently traveled to the Netherlands to take part in the Rotterdam Military Tattoo! Jack played the pipes at a series of concerts and events, including one memorable occasion when he was able to perform for Queen Maxima of the Netherlands!

Year 10 pupils have been enjoying their study of the topic of ‘Communion’ in Miss Henderson’s RE lessons this week.

Thanks very much to Caroline and Matt from Rowing Ireland , who visited us today to run a fantastic coaching session with our Year 11 CCEA GCSE PE class.

We have recently had the pleasure of LMC NI visiting our Home Economics department. Our Year 12 Food & Nutrition and Occupational Studies classes received a fascinating - and delicious! - demonstration.

We marked #WorldMentalHealthDay today. 9AT delivered a terrific assembly to Junior School on the importance of looking after our mental health, while 12MC did likewise in Senior School. Each form class also took part in a specially designed workshop, led by our prefect team.

Mrs Elliott’s Year 9 Science class took part in a fantastic ‘Collapsing Can’ experiment this week, as part of their ongoing study in to air pressure.

Our Year 8 footballers were very unlucky to lose 2-0 to a strong OLSPCK team on Friday in the Northern Ireland cup.

Year 12 GCSE Food and Nutrition class visited @MashDirect in Comber yesterday. They got an interesting and informative talk about the development of the business and the range of products and got to meet various staff members at their beautiful premises.

Our equestrian team enjoyed a successful weekend at the Meadows. Aoife Davies placed in 2nd in the 85cm class, while the team finished in a very encouraging 5th place overall!

A HUGE congratulations to Zac Hanna, who was recently crowned Young Rider of the Year at the 2024 Farming Life awards! The category is open to anyone aged up to 18, so for a Year 9 pupil to win is a massive achievement. We are all very proud of Zac! 🏆 🎉 🐴 🏆
