My conclusion from this Royal Society meeting is that we can’t expect the markets to value nature (not until it’s too late) & so we need to legislate

One of the most effective way to save nature is to designate Sites of Special Scientific Interest, and then ensure those sites are managed so the species & habitats on there thrive. 10 years ago a NE strategy stated that all sites for key grassland habitats should be designated.
