Today in Maputo started the 2nd meeting of the SADC Secretariat #MCSCC Task Force. “The Task Force is here to ensure that operations of the MCSCC are implemented ” said SADC fisheries advisor Motseki Hlatshwayo, recalling how far SADC has already come in terms of MCS.

IUU fishing threatens marine sustainability in the SADC region, undermining fisheries management, causing overfishing, and depleting fish stocks crucial for food and livelihoods. It also disrupts local economies, endangers species, and harms ecosystems. Action is essential now.
