Please continue to vote, today, at: hockeyville.kraftheinz.com/landing - This will take a huge community effort. We came together, as a community, to build the arena, and we need to come together again to help improve it. Please vote as much as you can!

The Cobequid Food Security Network has released the May food calendar for Sackville. If you need food or a meal that is less than market cost then this may help. We keep this updated monthly. Please note the exceptions for May 19 (Victoria Day)

Today marks the 33rd anniversary of the Westray Mine Disaster. We remember the 26 miners who died in this workplace tragedy. This led to stronger provincial workplace health & safety laws, and the passing of Westray Bill C-45 — a federal law introduced to improve #WorkplaceSafety

Please stay out of the woods anywhere in Nova Scotia. This map is from natural-resources.canada.ca/forest-forestr… and shows a lot more information on the level of danger. At this point it doesn't look like we'll have any rain for another week, so conditions are expected to get worse.

This is today's map from natural-resources.canada.ca/forest-forestr… - The Extreme areas in Nova Scotia have spread, and Lower Sackville has now been added to that. Please stay out of the woods. Until we get significant rain this is only going to get more dangerous.

Wildfires test us, but Nova Scotians always rise stronger. A big thank you to our first responders, fire fighters, and volunteers. And a special shout out to the Nova Scotia Guard for preparing meals and supporting our operation centres to keep fire fighters fed and our teams
