The giant anteater (Myrmecophaga tridactyla) eats up to 30,000 ants/day with its 60 cm sticky tongue. Poor eyesight, but a sense of smell 40x stronger than ours. Looks calm—but its claws can tear logs or fight predators. #cameratrap #Ecuador

An ancestral tool of precision. The blowgun, used by many Amazonian communities, was a silent and effective hunting instrument. Handcrafted from cane and tipped with curare (venomous substance from the jungle), it required skill and focus.

The black-mantled tamarin is one of the 7 species you can see at Sacha’s Reserve. Their chirping calls help them stay in contact across the branches, and they can even recognize the alarm calls of other species a shared language of survival woven through the forest.
