Normandy, 6th June 1940. My great grandfather John Conway is captured along with most of the 7th Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders after a battle at the French village of Franleu. The first two photos *might* possibly show some of those men.

Men of the 7th Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, 51st Highland Division, holding a position in the River Bresle area, 6 - 8 June 1940. I've added some of the appendices from the battalions war diary that gives a very detailed account of the fighting around this time.

The Lady Haig Poppy Factory will have its centenary next year, and they are looking for stories from anyone who may have worked there, or any artefacts, especially the older products, which were made there. All this will contribute to an exhibition, and to events throughout

During WW1, it was to Rosyth that Beattie's battlecruisers returned after Jutland. And in 1918, the base supported the Grand Fleet after it relocated from Orkney to the Forth. Gordon Barclay will talk to the Branch about the "Singapore" on the Forth later this year. URL is below.
