Bidding farewell to our LA15, the world's second and first commercial TrueBeam, in the most fitting way β making electron treesβ‘οΈ! Stanford Medical Physics Stanford Radiation Oncology

LA-15 stands for "linear accelerator 15," counting from LA-1, the first klystron powered medical linac invented Stanford Radiation Oncology by Henry Kaplan & Edward Ginzton. Dr. Kaplan treated the first patient in 1956, a 7 mo old with bilateral retinoblastoma, saving his vision & his life.
