Monday 18 December 6pm outside Broadmeadows Town Hall (10 Dimboola Rd) - 'Hume rally for humanity' - organised by a coalition of locals pushing for Hume Council to follow Maribyrnong, Merri-Bek, Dandenong and Yarra in voting up a motion for peace and justice in Palestine.

Monday 5pm outside Preston Town Hall - Darebin residents will also be rallying to push Darebin Council to do the same.

Palestinian flag flying outside Preston town hall today in accordance with the motion voted up at Monday’s Darebin council meeting. These small acts of solidarity can, over time, help win the broader change we need to win peace and justice for Palestine. ✊🇵🇸

UPDATE: Councillor Tom Hannan (Greens) put the motion to take down the flag and it was passed with the support of Greens councillors and a number of others. This meant the flag would have been taken down on the 19th of January. 🧵

However, since the meeting councillor Gaetano Greco has had a motion to rescind the Hannan motion accepted for consideration at the 26 February council meeting, which means, we believe, that the plan to lower the flag will be put off until then.
