An emergency sitting of Ontario legislature started at 5am to rush approval of Stephen Lecce’s “Keeping Students in Class” Act, which overrides Charter of Rights & Freedoms, Human Rights Code & collective bargaining rights, & instead imposes ed workers’ contract & criminalizes strikes

If Doug Ford refuses to repeal Bill 28, I'm calling on ALL unions to shut the province down this week! An attack on ONE member is an attack on ALL members. It's time to unite labour against this tyranny. Let's support #cupe!

I’m seeing a growing number of students complain: “My grade doesn’t reflect the effort I put into the course.” Public service announcement: You don’t get an A for effort. You earn it for excellence. Success is measured by the level of mastery you show, not how hard you work.

Quick reminder that while we celebrate Canada's men's program our women's program has been to eight FIFA World Cups and won Olympic gold and have set the international soccer tone in this country for quite some time.

Detentions where kids are having a laugh and chatting with each other and/or the member(s) of staff running the detention are not detentions. They are extended breaks.

Long rant coming in . . . 1 . . . 2 . . . 3. . . Here's the truth. . . u can't legislate integrity. Our issues in high school athletics are a by-product of larger issues in our society. We have a wholesale lack of integrity in our general population of our citizens. (cont'd)

Admin, when you drop in the class for a visit, maybe check to see if the teacher needs anything, like running to restroom, or bring them a water/ coffee. The little things are the big things in the daily grind!

Just because some teachers would rather stay in the classroom than go into administration doesn’t mean they aren’t leaders. In fact as a leader, seek their input and feedback if you want to build a highly effective school culture.

Administrators, teachers, and staff are all on same team. When we compete, everyone loses. But when we support, encourage and appreciate each member then everyone wins!

Leaders, how is your teacher retention? If you want to keep the best teachers, treat them like they are the best. Few teachers leave an environment where they feel valued, supported, appreciated, and treated like professionals. This is more important now than ever!
