Year 4 continued with the topic of athletics in PE today. We looked at the basics of the relay race and the skills needed to take part. All children worked well within their teams and showed great determination when competing.

Year 3 have loved working with Adam Bushnell this afternoon to plan a narrative focused around Ancient Egypt. We can’t wait to start writing our stories. Adam Bushnell

Year 3 have kicked off sports week with a fabulous session on the field using an inflatable dartboard and penalty shoot out.

Year 4 got creative during their art day! The children practiced painting techniques to create movement and texture. We learned all about the artist Hokusai and were inspired by one of his paintings, 'The Great Wave.' We linked this with our class novel, Kensuke’s Kingdom.

Our Safety Week has started with our children working with PCSO Allan from Northumbria Police. We have discussed how to keep our selves safe in the community. Northumbria Police

Year 4 have enjoyed our geography fieldwork looking at the types of land use in Ryhope. We then represented our data in a bar chart.

Year 4 enjoyed a cinema style experience in the Immersive Classroom. We watched Kensuke's Kingdom after reading the book this term.

This year’s winner of Sports Day were Phoenix!

Year 4 used AI technology to imagine and create scenes from Michael Morpurgo's powerful and emotive novel, Kensuke's Kingdom. Michael Morpugo
