Not only do we have a plume of Saharan dust overhead... we're also socked in with a fair amount of low-level moisture, too. Partly sunny skies today, at best. But we're drying out!

Recent rainfall delivered a massive improvement to this winter and spring's "extreme" drought - especially across the interior of South Florida. We're in a much better place now. NBC 6 South Florida

3pm Saturday - not great but we know it could be worse! Saharan Air shutting down storm chances... a sun-filled weekend so far. Beach time has been the best time.

Shower and thunderstorm chances on the increase this week...before another plume of Saharan dust swings through this weekend. With 1-6" rainfall deficits across the area, yes, we need some rain! NBC 6 South Florida

Following the lead of Andy Hazelton -- forgot I grabbed a receipts from some "X" handles, too. "we're letting people know" "there are various possibilities" Yup, the overwhelming likelihood that nothing was going to happen...including what was modeled on day 10 in the GFS. 💀

Late start? Seems that way...but it isn't necessarily the "canary in the coalmine" for the season. In 2024, the first named system popped up on June 19th. Prior to that, it was 2014 that the first system didn't form until July 1st. Average "first storm" is June 20th. 🌴🌧️

While we've had rain this month, it was front-loaded. The last several days have been hot and mainly dry... a trend that continues this week.
