Is there strong evidence that fewer exclusions leads to improved attendance? Intuitively, excluding some who negatively impacting school culture would increase attendance overall among the others

This AI driven school is generating a lot of attention. I’ll be curious how their model works when they get to AP classes

China has sent two aircraft carriers into the Pacific for the first time. By sending warships beyond Japan, the Chinese Navy is demonstrating its ability to project sea and air power far past its home waters. This is the new normal in the Indo-Pacific. You better get used to it.

Another 'ethical' straw man bites the dust... can't tell you how often people with absolute certainty, based on no evidence whatsoever, make the claim that this is a disaster for the planet, when I give talks.....

Finding myself wondering how many people today sat around a table noddding at a deck that they paid a consultant £200k for that was generated using £0.10 in OpenAI credits

There’s a lot of hype around Alpha School at the moment, while it seems unlikely it will scale, let’s assume it works and does scale, what are children doing for the extra time in the day? Sport? Creative Arts?

Those anti exams (and there are arguments for reducing or changing the role of exams) do need to address what happened during Covid. Specifically, national exams do seem to at least somewhat lessen the advantages more privileged students enjoy compared to centre based assessments

No signs of an end to rapid gains in AI ability at ever-decreasing costs yet I did my best to update my chart to take into account the price drop in o3 & the new models released by Google. GPT-4 was 2.25 years ago,so its worth noting the trend when considering the future of AI.

Both true: (A) If you outsource homework to AI you will learn less & (B) If you use AI as a tutor as part of instruction, you can learn more Whenever a paper showing (A) comes out, X talk is about AI destroying our brain. When a (B) paper, it is all about AI killing school. Sigh
