Non-binary US citizen Ryan Castellucci has been granted permission to appeal the ruling over their gender recognition process.

Ryan is recognised in the US as non-binary but the United Kingdom have refused to respect their documentation.

In January, the High Court ruled against me in my case seeking recognition as nonbinary under UK law.

But that is not the end of the story.

The UK Court of Appeal has agreed to hear my appeal.

I don't know how this will go, but I will see it through, using every appeal available to me if at first we're not successful.

I've had to fight so hard just to be me, but I don't give up, and hearing how I've made things easier for others makes it all worth it.
