Really nice work by Ryan here. He's designed a multiplex assay that genotypes clade defining SNPs in the phylogeny of Mycobacterium bovis that allows quick assignation of evolutionary lineage to crude culture extracts and allows informed triaging of samples for WGS.

Really pleased that our AFBI EMbI and IGFS PhD student, Ryan Magee won the best poster award at this year's European Society of Mycobacteriology meeting in Bruges. Here he is with fellow TB champion, Prof Michele Miller of Stellenbosch University . Well done, Ryan. Really pleased for you. AFBI
