Thanks Ed Mullins for the opportunity to work on this! We were able to recreate the first wave trends in COVID-19 hosps and deaths in London from these routine blood samples, suggesting their suitability for tracking future emerging pathogens.
Happy International Day of Women in Statistics and Data Science 🥳 Huge thanks to all who spoke at or attended our celebration this afternoon Oxford Statistics #IDWSDS2022
Surreal to work with inspirational scientists for the Infected Blood Inquiry ft. a sci-comm masterclass from David Spiegelhalter, SheilaBird and StephenEvans in presenting our evidence this week. Forever grateful to have been involved, but wish it were not in such difficult circumstances.

Congrats Ruth McCabe on your paper (and thank you for interning with World Health Organization (WHO)!). Seroprevalence was pivotal during #COVID19 (see: who.int/emergencies/di…) and alternative indicators for deaths can supplement existing data systems in all countries. Science, solutions, solidarity
Ruth McCabe working with Maria Van Kerkhove putting the world to rights!
Pre-print out now! medRxiv (not yet peer reviewed) Our pathogen epidemiology review group is building a catalogue of outbreaks, mathematical models, and disease parameters for 9 World Health Organization (WHO) priority pathogens First up is Marburg Virus Disease👇 medrxiv.org/content/10.110… 🧵1/3
