In January 1917, the magazine "Lukomorye" came out with a white cover (the image was removed by the censors). The caption to the picture, which remained intact, said that it was a variation on the Gabriel von Max's "Anatomist" with a new subtitle: "Over the corpse of victory."

The most mentioned person in 1917? Kerensky—no surprise. Second place? General Kornilov—makes sense. But third wasn’t Lenin—it was SR leader Viktor Chernov! That’s unexpected.

In 1916, two researchers set out to the Russian Empire's Eger POW camp with a unique idea: to record the language and folk songs of its Georgian prisoners. Join us this week as we sit down with Brian Fairley to discuss early 20th century audio recording! patreon.com/posts/recordin…

I haven't read a book from retweet yet, but I can recommend another title about the Caucasian front (esp. for those who like publications of archival documents). The huge volume (1122 pages) contains papers from Russian and Armenian archives. Russian speakers may find it useful.
