It's rather surprising that CPRE doesn't understand the difference between 'greenfield' and 'green belt'? The Labour policy is pretty clear: the UK's natural and precious landscapes will be protected.
Concrete and car parks will not.

So many people don't seem to understand this. Green belt policy has nothing to do with protecting precious rural landscapes. That's what AONBs, AGLVs, SSSIs, National Parks, Ancient Woodland etc are for!

The Fabian Society - Local Government and Housing report—in which I've written about suburban intensification—is now live, with some great ideas on how the Labour government can tackle the housing crisis from contributors incl. Ant Breach jonn elledge Marc Vlessing + more.

Excellent news. We need a proper, grown-up discussion about the green belt, free from ideology, which properly considers the parts that should be built on and the bits that need additional protection.

A smarter approach to the release of green belt land is essential to building the homes our country needs.

Labour will prioritise the development of low-quality ‘grey belt’ sites and impose ‘golden rules’ to ensure it always meets local housing need.

This is a strange story. Anyone from RCKa who's likely to attend site has a CSCS card...it's an important safety consideration, and neither difficult nor expensive to obtain. It's not unreasonable for contractors to expect professionals to have one.

Delighted to have scribbled a little contribution to this, on the subject of suburban intensification, and how low-density bits of our cities can deliver hundreds of thousands of homes.

Some thoughts on new towns and my work on suburban intensification published in Big Issue today following a conversation I had with Greg Barradale.

Anyone else have a problem with Social Value Portal sending threatening emails chasing payments for services they haven't provided for agreements that don't exist—and not answering the phone?
These clowns don't have a clue about genuine social value. Public bodies should avoid them.
