This week, the RepresentWomen team was honored to celebrate young women leaders at the 18th Annual Young Women to Watch Awards hosted by Running Start. Founded by Susannah Wellford the organization empowers young women in politics.

Mayor Bowser and Director Natasha Dupee participated in The Young Women to Watch Awards hosted by Running Start. The event was designed to support and honor outstanding young women leaders. During the event, MMB emphasized the importance of empowering women in leadership roles.

At Running Start, we try to introduce all of our participants to high level role models, like Members of Congress! At the Young Women to Watch Awards, we had Members participate in interviews with finalists and audience members. What is a question you'd ask a Congresswoman?

It was great to meet with students in the Running Start Program today, which offers mentorship to young women interested in running for office.   These students give me hope for our future — I can’t wait to see all they accomplish!
