We have transplanted 18.750 new eelgrass shoots covering 1 ha last week in Gamborg Fjord, Denmark. Fingers crossed that they will thrive like we have seen in multiple other Danish fjords.

In our most recent article, we show that sand-capping facilitates eelgrass restoration and macrofauna colonization. However, eutrophication is still a problem for eelgrass restoration. int-res.com/abstracts/meps…

#SandCapping may be used to restore & consolidate organic rich #sediments & make sediment conditions suitable for #EelgrassRestoration. Restored sediments enhanced #infauna colonization but no effect could be detected on #epifaunal community composition bit.ly/meps_729_63
