We should normalize early career PIs doing something completely different than their advisors. At the ACS meeting, and many times before, I’ve been told “oh I though you do MOFs” after the postdoc with Jeff. The ASC meeting was a blast btw! So much fun!

Super excited to see our Welch proposal renewed! Back in 2019, very few thought our Titan project would be successful. The The Welch Foundation was the first to support our research, and that support made a huge difference. Thank you!

We are looking for 2 postdocs! One will work on exp. modeling of the evaporites and karsts on Titan, and proving that earth-like life can survive (in) the lakes. We have excellent preliminary data and we are looking for a bright scientist to work with us on this exciting project!

A short thread on disability in chemistry and some food for thought. Again, I hate to be the one writing this. I'd much rather someone else did it so I could just retweet, but here we are... (1/12)

Advice to (new) PI: use a separate email address when asking for quotes or for any correspondence with vendors really. Any vendor.

Amazing talk by Tom Runčevski at ICCOSS. He said talking about planets “Moon=Past, Mars=Present, Titan=Future”. I propose a new saying: “Men are from Mars, and Women from Titan”. Or how about “To a diverse Titan and a positively changing Mars” 😊

If you think the weather is hot, have in mind that this is probably the coldest summer of the rest of your life. #ClimateEmergency

According to this excerpt from an actual job ad, asst/assoc professors occasionally bend/stoop/twist, they occasionally walk, and perhaps more importantly, they occasionally kneel and squat. At least they are not required to twerk.

This is such an excellent and important paper, and it makes me super happy to see that the authors used one of our solutions as a good example onlinelibrary.wiley.com/iucr/doi/10.11…

Art comes so natural to Pigment R4! We just let it crystalize and look at these sculptures and elaborated paintings on the vial's walls! I really enjoyed this fun project with Matt Heaney and Daniel! pubs.acs.org/doi/abs/10.102…
