Check out the latest paper describing the liquid to solid transition of FUS! Great collaboration with Shen's Lab Sydney Uni, Francesco Simone Ruggeri, Prof. Peter St.-Hyslop's lab, Rosana Collepardo, Prof. D. Weitz's lab and Daniele Vigolo! Well done. pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pn…

After about 2.5 years of enjoying science, education and challenges at Wageningen U&R, I am excited to share my promotion to Associate Professor! A big thanks to my chairs Physical Chemistry and Soft Matter - WUR and ORC_WUR, Han Zuilhof and Jasper van der Gucht, to my colleagues and excellent team to make it possible!

I saw many Tweets coming by to remind us scientists that science is not all we do! Today we managed to combine science and leisure. We visited Ouwehands Dierenpark with 50 colleagues where we had a great talk about 🐼, a pub(less)quiz and a stroll through the park. Great teambuilding 💪

Look at the great work of our PhD Anouk Bosman on modular 3D-printed tools to extract wheat kernels, as a first step for the on-site analysis of #contamination by #mycotoxins by #IR #spectroscopy. Great work with G. Salentijn. Physical Chemistry and Soft Matter - WUR ORC_WUR sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

A nice pre-christmas lunch to say goodbye to Stephan Freitag who visited us for 3 month working on microfluidics for infrared spectroscopy analysis, and to welcome Tianyi Cui from Zhejiang University to undertake two years of his Phd on plant protein self-assembly!

Excited to announce that nwo has granted our proposal NanoNU-Marker! At ORC_WUR, Physical Chemistry and Soft Matter - WUR, Wageningen U&R, we will work with Yannick Vermeiren, A. Haveman-Nies, L. De Groot to develop micro-to-nano chemical #biomarkers of #ageing and #neurodegeneration in association to #nutrition.

#Subsidy 💰🔬| To research and identify early indicators of disorders such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's, WUR has received a grant of over one million euros from NWO Nieuws! Outcomes might help for future early-stage diagnosis of these diseases.➡️ap.lc/IjlUh

The PHOTONFOOD Young Researcher’s are meeting again in Wageningen University and Wageningen Food Safety Research for training and demonstration with the developed paper-enhanced infrared spectroscopy method for the detection of regulatory level concentrations of DON in wheat! 🌾

We are looking for two talented PhD students to work on our awarded project NanoNU-Marker! Physical Chemistry and Soft Matter - WUR ORC_WUR Yannick Vermeiren wur.nl/en/education-p…

Thanks to Digital Surf for the story on our research to advance our understanding of #biomolecular processes & #materials via nano-analytical chemistry. We could not achieve these results without a great software as Mountains! Physical Chemistry and Soft Matter - WUR ORC_WUR 👉 bit.ly/3xIW5kW
