Tier-II and III cities along with rural areas in India have the largest potential for cycling use. That is my hope. 2011 Census reported areas with 30 to 40% of workers cycling to work (see map). We are finding high levels of cycling to school also (more on that later).

The "India Status Report on Road Safety 2024" was launched today. During the launch, Dr Geetam Tiwari, Professor Emeritus, TRIP Centre, IIT Delhi said that the report on road safety provides state level data of 24 states addressing data discrepancy for better interventions.
