Day 1 of the T3 #befscale fucoid resilience biogeographic survey done! With some 🌱growth measurements thrown into the bargain 📏 stunning weather here today in southern Finistère 🇫🇷 not many juveniles and lots of tired looking Osmundea 🍂 🤞 we find the tags this summer!

Spring #befscale sampling done 🙌Weather got unstuck from early-March just in time & was glorious! Too early for fucoid reproduction & lots of Osmundea in 100% removal plots for now. Nb: please admire Pr. Davoult’s reclined fucoid kelp tagging position 🌱😎

Pleased to share my latest PhD chapter; where me & Catalina Pimiento investigate the rise & fall of shark functional diversity during the Cenozoic era. Now published OA in GEB Journal! 🦈

Happy to be visiting sites in Galicia, N. Spain, with PhD student Ruby George and the Benthic Ecology Team CIIMAR team. This is the southern (warmest) region in our collaborative study on the resilience of intertidal forests along a latitudinal gradient.
