The West has been below replacement level fertility before. By the 1920s, more than half of European nations had fertility rates below 2.1. But fertility recovered – often to far above replacement level – in the famous Baby Boom. How did we pull it off? (🧵)

'Sneaked references: Fabricated reference metadata distort citation counts'

This, in our view, is a very important paper.

We recall reading a preprint and glad to see that it is now published. buff.ly/3QAPsaC

Old thread, but super important work - both due to the elegant technique used to arrive at this answer (which has key applications to trials I haven't seen people exploit yet) and due to the result (which points at prognostic covariates to increase power in longitudinal designs)

New meta-analysis in The BMJ about the treatment of depression with psilocybin🍄
Despite its positive conclusions, the authors make the most recurrent errors in meta-analyses

Let's see if by pointing them out we can make them less and less frequent🧵

One of the major criticisms of operationalism is the uncontrollable proliferation of concepts. Ironically, psychology is experiencing a massive proliferation of constructs even though modern psychology tends to follow a realist approach to measurement.

👇This is the main chart and takeaway.
